Old Station

Day 90, Mile 1377

We are now just past half way! In another two to three weeks we'll be in Oregon. It was great to get to spend some time with the fam in Sierra City and Portola along the way, what a morale booster! To top it all off Train brought us some cookies n cream ice cream, oreos cookies, donuts, and sodas at the trail junction by Chester. Of course I ate a bunch of everything and even was able to hike another ten miles uphill. Surprised I didn't get sick after that though. So midway celebrations have been great, but now its back to making some miles. The next few are supposed to be hot with little water and shade again so hoping to cruz through.

Stacia, we are so proud of you accomplishment so far. You have trekked over 1300 miles, over half-way the distance of the PCT, and still you trek on. We admire your dedication, your resolve, and your testing your limits. We also think it is amazing and commendable that Chad has trekked along with you on this journey. Clearly, you are taking care of and encouraging one another as well.

Hopefully, you are having some time to reflect, to enjoy nature, to do some self-exploration, and to experience some of the life-changing and inspiring events that a venture like this provides.

We wish you well on the next half of the journey. By the time you reach Canada, you will have traveled farther that the pioneers who trekked across the Oregon Trail (that was about 2000 miles).

Our love, our prayers, and our good thoughts go with you.

It has been so much fun reading about your travels!! Things in this neck of the woods pretty much the same. Looks like we may have a fire season after all. Did the Dirty Face Dualsport 121 miles, 254 riders, only 6 women!!! Lets get some more girls next year. Take care and give Gator a Halla for me. Cheers, Kajsa

Trail Angels from Donner Pass
We hope this e-mail finds you well and still hiking Northbound.  Shadow, Judy (dog), and I had a great time meeting you and filling your stomach full of hotdogs and beer.  We will be traveling around the Ashland, OR area for the next couple weeks so please let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
